James C. Braddy Jr. lives in Thomaston, Ga. He is a retired jeweler.

1942

Betty Brinson Whittier is a homemaker in Atlanta, Ga. She has five children and 10 grandchildren and enjoys reading, traveling, and playing tennis and golf.

1952

Eleanor Jane Webb Clifford and Gordon, her husband of 51 years, live in Anderson, S.C. They have one daughter and one grandson.

Geneva Johnson Sparling is a retired teacher and administrator. She has returned to work as an instructional assistant at an intermediate school in Fortville, Ind. She and her husband, John, are helping raise their granddaughter. She enjoys gardening, visiting with friends and working with children.

Ann Herrington Garrard is vice president of Habersham & Cowan in Peachtree City, Ga.

1970

William S. Wade is a retired P.E. teacher and coach. He and his wife, Kathy live in Buena Vista, Ga.

1972

Frank Simons was selected as the Outstanding Chief of the Year by the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police. He has been the Chief of Police for Valdosta for 10 years and served as the Chief of Police for Perry, Ga., for eight years.

Roger G. Trawick is a math teacher at Flint River Academy in Thomaston, Ga.

1973

Mike Hartley retired after 30 years as a high school guidance counselor in Jefferson County Schools. He now works as a vocational rehabilitation counselor with the Georgia Department of Labor in Augusta. Married 31 years with two grown children, Mike and wife, Nicole, are active in placing and hosting foreign exchange students from around the world.

Sherry Hendon (’76) is in her 33rd year of teaching. She and husband, Mike, have two children, Kristin and Kristopher. She is a mentor and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church in Richland, Ga.

Amelia Evans Britton is a retired college nurse. She owns an antique business in Cochran, Ga.

Alton Wilson (’77) is a teacher and coach in Columbia, S.C.

1976

Ann Hasty Swift is a teacher in Early County. She lives in Blakely, Ga.

Robert “Alf” Tuggle recently became the scout executive/CEO of the Greater Pittsburgh Council, Boy Scouts of America. He and his wife, Marianne Simmons Tuggle (’76) live in Gibsonia, Pa. They have two sons, Matt, 24, and Brad, 21.

Beverly K. Smith is a teacher for the Dougherty County Board of Education. She lives in Albany, Ga.

Mary Wakefield Harden is an administrator of a home health agency in North Augusta, S.C. She lives with her husband, Michael and 6-year-old daughter, Rachel in Martinez, Ga.

Lauri Tarver Mennel and her husband, John, are currently living in Bucharest, Romania, while John is on assignment with Booz Allen Hamilton. After 20 years in corporate marketing, Lauri is enjoying staying home with their two-year-old daughter, Mary Kathleen.

Melinda Sams is regional program manager for The Mentor Network. She manages therapeutic foster care programs in Macon, Albany, and Eatonton, Ga. She and husband, Frank, live in Byron, Ga. with their two children, Casey, 16, and Reid, 7.

Jeff Burns is a teacher at Henry County High School. He lives in McDonough, Ga.

Janet A. Davis is a business education teacher at Hawkinsville High School. She lives in Hawkinsville, Ga.

1989

Lisa Barfield Hernandez (’96) has been named principal of Schley County Elementary School (grades Pre-K through 6th). She and husband, Michael, live in Americus, Ga., with their two daughters, Madison, 13, and Mallory, 8.

1990

Shaw E. Burns is a teacher and coach for the Crisp County Board of Education. He and his wife, Cecilia Howard, have one son, Connor, and they reside in Sylvester, Ga.

Kirk Whitaker is employed by Southwest Georgia Farm Credit. He and wife, Diana Lynn Whitaker, live in Bainbridge, Ga., with their two children, Thad, 4, and Christie, 9 months.

1991

Kelly Wise Buchanan is president of Sumter Livestock in Americus, Ga. He and his wife, Jenny, have two children, Cody, 10, and Cory, 6.

Traci Hilton Wilson is a first grade teacher at Early County Elementary School. She and Dwayne, her husband of 14 years, have two children, Tripp, 12, and Carrie, 9.

1992

Charles F. Owens is executive director of the Office of Rural Health Services in Cordele, Ga. He has received recognition for his efforts in health care from the Georgia Hospital Association and Home Town Health.

1993

Jay Campbell is the west coast regional sales manager for Kelley Blue Book. He married Anh Nguyen Campbell in August 2005. They reside in Pasadena, Calif.

Candace Cloud Clements is an art teacher for Colquitt County. She lives in Moultrie, Ga.

1996

Zondra-daya (Jackson) Bradshaw is an orthopedic surgical coordinator for Resurgens Orthopedics. Her 17-year-old son, Zackery Jackson will be graduating from high school. She and her husband, Chriss, have a daughter, Dayanna Chrissta-Alexis Bradshaw was born in December 2003.

Tanyon L. Lakes is a pharmacy tech II at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, Ga.

Rebecca Parrott is a graduate student (Public Health) at Eastern Kentucky University, a United States Marine, and is currently working with at-risk adolescent females. She lives in Richmond, Ky.

Joyce S. Pheil teaches fourth grade math at A.S. Clark Elementary School, where she was voted “Teacher of the Year” for the 2004-05 school year. She lives with her husband, Willie, in Cordele, Ga.

Patti Love Saunders is in sales for The Pampered Chef. She has relocated to McDonough, Ga. with her husband, Barry, who is the Children’s Minister at Bethany Baptist Church. They have two sons.

1997

Matt Bruner is manager of Kolomoki Mounds State Park. He and wife, Leigh, have two children, Cole, 3, Taylor, 1, and were expecting their third child in August. They reside in Blakely, Ga.

Amanda W. Cooper is RN house supervisor for Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. She and her husband, Tony, live in Americus, Ga.

Patricia Beck Hanken and husband, Richard Hanken live in Denver, Colo. She spends a lot of time “cruising” the Rockies in a ’92 ‘Vette convertible, doing some autocross racing and rallies.

1998

Edward Sampson is pursuing a master’s in Management and a master’s in Leadership and Organization from Troy University.

1999

Rachael Gresham is director of Membership and Community Development for the Americus-Sumter County Chamber of Commerce. She lives in Americus with husband, Dwight, and their children, Allison and Kayden.

Amanda Peterman Perkins is an administrative assistant for Community Club Management. She and husband, Steve D. Perkins (’99) live in Alpharetta, Ga.

Stacey Watson is a pre-K teacher at Perry Primary School. She lives in Kathleen, Ga.

2000

Chase Jackson Godwin is a counselor at Pierce County High School. He lives in Statesboro, Ga.

Jessie Nicole West is a pharmaceutical sales rep. for Abbott Laboratories. She lives in Columbus with her husband, Jason, and is expecting her first child in December.

2002

Alan Wayne Maples is employed by Procter & Gamble Paper Products Co. in Manufacturing Management. He graduated with honors from Western Carolina University with a Masters of Project Management Degree in August 2005. He lives in Leesburg, Ga.

Emilie Thompson and her husband, Brice, had a baby girl, Chelsey Nicole Thompson.

Albert Warren is a third year medical student at Mercer University School of Medicine/ Medical Center Central Georgia. His wife, Faith, is employed as a R.N. at Coliseum Hospital. The couple recently welcomed their third child, Kaitlyn Nicole, into their family. They live in Macon, Ga.

2003

Joshua Curtin is director of Campus Life at Georgia Southwestern State University. He lives in Leesburg, Ga.

Keith Wims is a probation officer at Blakely Probation. His wife, Marlena (’03), is a first grade teacher at Calhoun County Elementary School. They live in Arlington, Ga. with their daughter, Kyla.
