Thank you for choosing to study at the English Language Institute (ELI). These steps will help you through the application process. Please read them before you proceed.

Please PRINT the application form below.  Follow the instructions below, FAX or mail the applications to our office.

  1. Complete the enclosed application, sign and date it.
  2. Send application along with:
    1. $75.00 (U.S.) non-refundable application fee (international money order or check made payable to The Center for Asian Studies.
    2. Official high school transcripts showing graduation / completion
      * Exceptions may be made for individuals who have not completed high school. Such exceptions are made after careful consideration of the potential student's educational background and purpose of studying at the ELI.
    3. TOEFL score (if you have one)
    4. Bank statement from financial sponsor. (this is required to receive I-20 and apply for a visa)
    5. Financial Support certification signed by sponsor

Applications can not be processed to issue a form I-20 issued until all documents, including the application fee, have been received by the English Language Institute.

Students who expect to remain in the ELI program beyond one semester should be aware of the period between semesters (1-4 weeks) which requires funds for living expenses.

** All undergraduate, graduate, and ESL international students holding F or J visas who attend a University System of Georgia Institution are required to participate in the Student Health Insurance program. If you have any quuestions or concerns regarding this program, please contact The Center for Asian Studies.

** All ELI students must present a completed health form signed by a medical Doctor upon arrival. If you have not had all of the required immunizations, you will have to pay to get them upon your arrival. This is required by Georgia Law and must be completed within thirty days.

*** Room and Meal plans are reviewed at beginning of summer session each year and the cost may change. Room assignments may vary according to availability.

REFUND POLICY

Refunds are made only when a student completely withdraws from the University. If you withdraw, you must leave the country.

Prorated refunds per semester:

·         If the student withdraws at the end of the first week we will refund 90% of the tuition and fees:

·         If the student withdraws at the end of two weeks but before the 4th week we will refund 50% of the tuition and fees.

·         If the student withdraws after four weeks but before the 8th week we will refund 25% of tuition and fees.

There will be no refund after the 8th week.

Refunding of dorm fees and meals will be prorated according to the policy stated in the Student Housing Contract.
