Student Support Services
Student Support Services is a federally funded program designed to:
- Increase college retention and graduation rates for eligible students
- Foster an institutional climate supportive of the success of low-income and first generation college students and students with disabilities
- Increase the transfer rate of eligible students from two-year to four-year institutions
Our goal is to:
- Retain and graduate eligible program participants enrolled in Student Support Services
- Provide the support services necessary for program participants to achieve academically and enhance personal growth.
Services (Free to all participants)
- Tutoring
- Cultural Trips (Plays, Concerts, Tours, Art Shows, etc...)
- Academic Workshops (Stress Management, Time Management, Study Skills, Regents Exam Preparation, Financial Aid Counseling, and Graduate School selection and many more)
- Academic and Career Guidance
Program Eligibility
- First generation college student
- Income eligible according to U.S. Department of Education
- U.S. citizen
- Documented disability
- Enrolled at GSW
