Student Support Services


 Student Support Services is a federally funded program designed to:
  • Increase college retention and graduation rates for eligible students
  • Foster an institutional climate supportive of the success of low-income and first generation college students and students with disabilities
  • Increase the transfer rate of eligible students from two-year to four-year institutions

Our goal is to:

  • Retain and graduate eligible program participants enrolled in Student Support Services
  • Provide the support services necessary for program participants to achieve academically and enhance personal growth.

Services (Free to all participants)

  • Tutoring
  • Cultural Trips (Plays, Concerts, Tours, Art Shows, etc...)
  • Academic Workshops (Stress Management, Time Management, Study Skills, Regents Exam Preparation, Financial Aid Counseling, and Graduate School selection and many more)
  • Academic and Career Guidance

Program Eligibility

  • First generation college student
  • Income eligible according to U.S. Department of Education
  • U.S. citizen
  • Documented disability
  • Enrolled at GSW
