Mission Statement

 

The Mission of the Office of Campus Life is to effectively coordinate the efforts and programs of the Campus Activities Board, the New Student Orientation/Registration Program, special events such as homecoming, welcome week, and honors day, and to offer support and leadership to student leaders and campus organizations. More specifically, the Office of Campus Life shall support academics, foster retention, create windows of social and career opportunity, stimulate an interchange of ideas, attitudes, and opinions, develop an appreciation of our multicultural society, provide outreach to community service learning, build self esteem, assist in the acquisition of leadership skills, promote teamwork, and contribute to an enjoyable campus environment, in order to foster the success of positive and productive students and citizens on the campus and beyond. Student participation in the design and implementation of these programs provides opportunities to develop and enhance characteristics of leadership, interpersonal skills, and personal growth.. The office provides structured activities, programs, services, resources and facilities to accomplish this mission.

The Office of Campus Life recognizes that its mission, in cooperation with the mission of the University, is accomplished through the close interaction of students and staff, working together to meet the extracurricular and co-curricular needs of the students attending Georgia Southwestern State University.
