Campus Founded in 1906, Georgia Southwestern has been serving students for more than a century. Historic buildings, a lake, and an 18 hole golf course are nestled on 400 scenic wooded acres. Long, warm summers and short, mild winters are characteristic of the area's climate - making for pleasant living conditions and year-round recreation.

Faculty All classes are taught by experienced faculty - not teaching assistants. Our faculty consists of full-time professors. Faculty devote their time primarily to teaching and advising undergraduates. Our students-to-faculty ratio is 16 to 1.

Placement Education does not end with graduation. Many of our students go onto pursue graduate or professional studies after receiving their degrees. As educated individuals with initiative and a desire to be lifelong learners, our graduates are accepted at the nation's best graduate institutions and secure careers in top companies worldwide. Student Profile Southwestern has a growing, diverse enrollment of more than 2,500 students from 81% of the counties in Georgia, 22 states, and 29 countries.

On Campus Living New residence halls make living easy at Southwestern! Southwestern's premier living options include private and semi-private suites for freshmen and apartments for upperclassmen. The halls are designed to enhance the students' development of life skills and independence. Student Success Center Complementing the beautiful collegiate outdoor space, the Student Success Center offers a wide variety of challenges. A rock-climbing wall, racquetball and basketball courts, and aerobic and weight rooms are among the features of this student-centered facility.

Glassblowing Studio Southwestern houses the only studio in Georgia used for academic programs. Olympic Sized Swimming Pool Available for year-round recreational swimming and competitions, this facility is home to the Americus Blue Tide Swim Team and Olympic Gold-Medalist, Angel Myers Martino. Seismograph Southwestern's Geology Department has a seismic station on campus. One of only three in Georgia, our students are able to record and analyze seismic activity all over the world. |

Challenge Course The GSW Challenge Course is an outdoor classroom designed to provide a safe, fun, and experiential learning environment. Here, groups and individuals can learn about themselves and address personal, interpersonal, and organizational issues. Honors Program Exceptionally talented and motivated students are offered a challenging environment for learning accompanied by a generous scholarship. Study Abroad Georgia Southwestern students may pursue studies in England, France, Russia along with several other nations.
This course allows students the opportunity to study a particular country and culminate that study with a visit there. |

Rosalynn Carter Institute The former First Lady has dedicated herself to the caregiving profession. The institute provides educational and scholarship opportunities for Southwestern students. Child Development Center The Child Development Center provides a unique teaching and learning research opportunity for GSW and pre-kindergarten students. Golf Course An 18-hole golf course located adjacent to campus is owned and operated by the university. |
