Sculpture students at Georgia Southwestern are challenged to understand historical and contemporary art issues with emphasis placed on the development of personal expression, conceptual exploration, and craft. Instruction focuses on woodworking, welded steel, casting, and mixed media assemblage. Interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged with other media areas. The Fine Arts Department at Georgia Southwestern State University offers both a Bachelor of Arts (which has more of a liberal arts focus) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
