Physical Education and Health

The purpose of the Southwestern’s Health and Physical Education curriculum is to prepare students for careers in teaching pupils from the preschool level to the secondary level in addition to preparing them for coaching positions at the middle and secondary levels. Health and Physical Education majors must meet the same requirements as other Education majors in addition to requirements that are specific to the Department of Health and Human Performance at Georgia Southwestern, such as the physical fitness test. Upon completion of this degree and passing of the GACE, students will be certified to teach in the state of Georgia.
