Students wishing to begin their careers in Optometry at Southwestern may meet entrance requirements to Optometry and graduate schools following the completion of the B.S. in Biology program. Students will select courses that meet specific entrance requirements under the guidance of a departmental advisor. The Department of Biology’s primary goal is to expose students to the broad body of knowledge involved in the study of life. The program’s dedicated faculty guide students through the coursework which includes extensive field work and hands-on research opportunities which prepare students to meet the competitive admissions requirements of professional institutions.
