Psychologists seek to understand the actions of individuals and what affects their behavior. The goal of the Psychology Department at Southwestern is to provide a strong background in the study of human behavior that will prepare students for graduate studies or human service careers. The program offers a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. The faculty of the Department of Psychology believe that students must “learn by doing” and therefore many students have the opportunity to take part in hands-on training through internships and research projects undertaken with faculty members.
