There
are two L.R. Towson Scholarships, the Junior award and the Senior award.
The junior award is reserved for excellent Chemistry Majors who will be classified as JUNIORS by the 1st semester of the award. To qualify for the award a student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and have completed 12 semester hours of chemistry above the 1000 level with a chemistry GPA of 2.5. The student must fill out an application and arrange for 2 letters of recommendation be sent to the Department of Chemistry. To be eligible for the award in the Fall semester, all application materials must be in the Department of Chemistry by the beginning of the preceding Summer Semester.
Selection process: The granting of the awards will be determined by the faculty of the Department of Chemistry during the Summer Semester prior to the awards granted annually in the Fall Semester. In the event of 2 or more candidates having equal qualifications, student need will determine the award
Monetary amount: The award is for $125 per semester for each of the Fall and Spring Semesters. Failure to maintain minimum criteria results in discontinuation of the award.

To qualify for the award a student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and have completed 18 semester hours of chemistry above the 1000 level with a chemistry GPA of 2.5. The student must fill out an application and arrange for 2 letters of recommendation be sent to the Department of Chemistry. To be eligible for the award in the Fall semester, all application materials must be in the Department of Chemistry by the beginning of the preceding Summer Semester.
