DEPARTMENT MISSION
The Department of English and Modern Languages prepares students for successful careers, effective leadership, and productive citizenship by challenging them to develop both their critical thinking and communication skills in basic general education as well as advanced major-level courses. The programs offered by English and Modern Languages foster students' critical engagement with the world by exposing them to various literary and cultural perspectives. The Department's highly qualifies qualified and flexible faculty is dedicated to student-oriented learning, and dynamic, task-oriented education.
