Immunizations
Measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, and Hepatitis B. Hepatitis B is required for students 18 years of age and younger. Meningitis is required for all students who reside in the residence halls.

THESE DRUGS ARE AVAILABLE FOR ORDERS WRITTEN AT THE STUDENT HEALTH CENTER. PRESCRIPTIONS WRITTEN OFF CAMPUS CAN NOT BE FILLED.

The Health Center staff will assist students in making appointments with dentists or medical specialists. The cost for such medical services is the financial responsibility of the student..

Medical Records
A confidential health record is created for each patient upon completion and return of a medical history form to Georgia Southwestern State University. Health information cannot be released without the patient's written consent unless mandated by law. (If the student is under 18 years of age, the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must sign a consent for treatment form which is kept in the health record file). Medical and mental health records are not included in the general University record system. Medical records are maintained in compliance with Georgia state laws and are destroyed in a confidential manner.

The Women's Health Clinic

We welcome both women and men to Women's Services to discuss any topics related to sexual or reproductive health.

The Women's Health Clinic is a comprehensive women's health program. The program is provided by Georgia Southwestern State University in a collaborative effort with State of Georgia Department of Health. Nurse practitioners are available every Wednesday that school is in session. Students are seen by appointment only. You may make appointments by calling the Health Center at (229) 931-2235 or you may e-mail the Health Center. Please notify the Health Center as soon as possible if you are unable to keep your appointment.
