Assistant Professor of Learning Support, English/Reading
Tenure-track position to begin August 2008 in our Department of English and Modern Languages, a division of the College of Arts and Sciences. This position requires a person with training in teaching reading and writing to adults; preference will be given to candidates with expertise in teaching learning-support or developmental courses, Regents’ reading and writing courses, those with at least 18 graduate hours in reading or English courses, teaching experience and/or training working at a National Writing Project site. Duties include a 4/4 load of learning support reading classes and Regent’s reading classes, but may also include learning-support writing or Regents’ writing courses. MA in English or equivalent required. The successful candidate will demonstrate an appreciation of the department’s undergraduate teaching mission, and a commitment to service and scholarship.
