Assistant Professor, Psychology
The Department of Psychology and Sociology at Georgia Southwestern State University is taking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology position beginning Fall, 2008. We are seeking candidates with expertise in applied areas of psychology (e.g., Clinical, Counseling, Health, Community, School, Industrial/organizational). Area of specialization is open but candidates must be able to teach clinically-oriented classes such as Abnormal Psychology, Theories of Personality, and Theories and Techniques of Counseling. We seek candidates who have demonstrated excellence in teaching, service, and scholarship. The successful candidate will become part of a small, collegial department and will have the opportunity to teach/develop courses in her/his area of specialization. The position involves a teaching load of 12 hours per semester, student advisement, committee work, and occasional supervision of student internships. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. by August, 2008.
