Potato Sack Race

  • Divsions: Male, Female
  • Team Members: Individual Event
  • Maximum entries per team: 8
  • Awards: Medals to top three finishers
  • Description: Contestants will hop with both feet in a burlap sack for a distance of 40 yards. Contestants will compete against one another in 2 heats. The top three from each heat will race in the finals.

Rules:

  1. Runners will run to the sack, put both feet in sack and begin hopping.
  2. Contestants must keep both feet in sack and at least one hand on the sack at all times.
  3. The sack must remain as close to the waist as possible and should not fall below the knees.
  4. The command to start will be “Ready, Set, Go"

Penalties

  1. Second false start - Disqualification
  2. Advancing without both feet in the sack - Disqualification
