Tractor Tire Relay

  • Divsions: Male, Female
  • Team Members: 3
  • Maximum entries per team: 4
  • Awards: Medals to top three finishers
  • Description: Each team member will be required to roll a tractor tire through one leg of the course. Two teams will compete at one time. The teams with the fastest four times will be seeded into the championship bracket. The teams will then race head to head. Winners advance to the championship and losers race for third place.

Rules:

  1. Each team member will carry a baton. This baton must be exchanged from team member to team member at the exchange points.
  2. The tire must start laying on the ground, encircling a cone. It must be returned to the exact spot, encircling the cone. The clock will stop once the tire is no longer moving and is flat on the ground.
  3. The tire must be rolled at all times. One team member must be within 3 feet of the tire at all times
  4. The tire must not fall to the ground (less than a 45 degree angle) at any time, except during the start and finish of the race.
  5. The team must navigate the course successfully, going through all cones and around the end cone.
  6. The first team member will start at a starting line. When the whistle blows, he/she will run to the tire and begin the race.

Penalties

  1. Dropping the baton – 1 second penalty for each drop.
  2. Knocking a cone over - 1second penalty per cone.
  3. One team member not being within 3 feet of tire at all times - 1 second penalty per occurrence
  4. Failure to navigate course successfully - Disqualification
