ITAC Meeting Minutes
August 12, 2008

Attendance:  Marlene Allen, Carol Bishop, Gary Fisk, Jeff Green, Laurel Robinson, 
Gretchen Smith, Tom Weiland, Janet Wills, Royce Hackett (Ex-Officio), and Jarrett Hartsfield (Ex-Officio)

Meeting was called to order at 1:35pm

1.Robinson moved to elect Gary Fisk as chair of the committee, Weiland seconded.
The motion passed unanimously.

2.Fisk asked for a volunteer to serve as secretary for the committee.  Smith volunteered.

3.Hackett discussed the budget situation and until the final amount of budget cuts is known 
he is unsure of how this will affect the Student Tech Fee fund.  Some money has been spent 
since July 1 on necessary repairs, maintenance, etc.

4.Hackett provided an update on the implementation of the wireless network on campus.  Both 
Southwestern Oaks and Pines have wireless up and running.  Configuration for the wireless 
network needs to be completed and this will take some time.  Two additional access points 
have already been purchased and will be activated once the network in the dorms has been 
fully implemented.  These two access points will cover parts of south and north campus.  
Funds for the wireless implementation did not come out of the Student Tech Fee fund.

5.Green asked the committee if a proposal to fund a new computerized lighting system for the 
theater would be appropriate to submit.  Fisk informed him that all proposals are welcome and
 one of the considerations would be the number of students that would be impacted by such a purchase.

6.Fisk asked all committee members to send him times they are available to meet so he can find
 a time for the next committee meeting.  His email is gdf@canes.gsw.edu. 

7.Hackett discussed that the SGA President, Andrew Robinson, wants to make sure there are SGA
 representatives on this committee.  He asked Fisk to contact Mr. Robinson to find out the names
 of these representatives so that they can be informed of the meeting schedule.
