Clinical Coordination
Georgia Southwestern School of Nursing offers students an extensive range of clinical experiences across Georgia. These experiences include community, clinical, hospital, and school settings. The clinical location will vary depending on course taken. Students must have their own transportation for travel to and from the clinical sites. Towards the end of their school experience, students can choose their clinical experience to an area they may be interested in working.
Clinical agencies may require that nursing students who rotate through their facilities are subject to criminal background checks and urine drug screens.
The School of Nursing will neither pay for nor offer these screenings. Moreover, the School of Nursing will not have access to the results of these checks. A facility may, because of the results of these checks, prohibit a student from engaging in clinical activities in that facility.
The School of Nursing will attempt, but does not guarantee, to find alternate, equivalent, experiences.
