Message from the Dean
Welcome to the School of Nursing. Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) School of Nursing is committed to preparing men and women for compassionate practice as competent professionals through scholarship, leadership in service to the community and to the nursing profession, and personal growth. The School of Nursing faculty believes that the teaching and learning process must incorporate the four aspects of professional effectiveness: expertise, autonomy, commitment to the profession, and responsibility to self and society.
Nursing students will join an exceptional community of learners in a caring and state-of-the-art professional program. Graduates of the program will be prepared as a generalist to practice in a wide variety of health care settings. These individuals will be actively recruited by the best hospitals and health care agencies in the state. We welcome students who are looking to help meet the challenges to the nation’s health care system and who are eager to learn.
Sincerely,
Sandra Daniel, PhD, RN, CPNP
Dean and Professor
