SGA President:
As your 2009-2010 Student
Government President, I'd like to welcome you back to this great institution!For those of you who may not know what
the Student Government Association is, it is a student organization made up of individual selected and appointed to represent
the voices of the student body. If you have issues or concerns, please feel free to voice them at one of our weekly meetings,
or to any member of SGA, including myself. Also, look out for our monthly Town Hall Forums, where we allow students the chance to meet important individuals
who play an important part of making our campus function and these forums are also a way to address major
issues that affects our students.
I encourage you to become familiar with the intricacies that make our institution one of the fastest growing institutions in the state of Georgia. We
are an institution built on academics,campus involvement, and involvement within our community. We have a diverse and vibrant student body that
makes Georgia Southwestern what it is today. With over 70 student organizations,our students continue to participate in different activities; which in turn,
allows them to leave positive marks on our campus as well as in the Americus community. Feel free to engage in the various activities within GSW whether it
is joining a student organization, participating in various campus programs, attending athletic events, or engaging in intramural sports.
Most importantly, remember that the key to your success here at Georgia Southwestern is academics, so I urge you to remain focused and dedicated throughout
your tenure at GSW. If you find yourself in trouble, do not hesitate to seek available assistance through services provided
by the Academic Skills Center and the Writing Center. Lastly, enjoy your college experience and let Georgia Southwestern further your
growth as an individual.
