GSW Financial Aid Director takes new position

AMERICUS—After more than two decades with Georgia Southwestern State University, Financial Aid Director Freida Jones is resigning. Jones recently accepted a position at a sister institution and will be leaving at the end of February.

“I have really enjoyed working with the people at GSW,” said Jones. “I will miss working elbow to elbow with my dedicated staff. I will always look back on my 21 years spent at GSW with fond memories.”

Jones’ tenure with Georgia Southwestern began in 1988. She was promoted to director of Financial Aid in 1992. Jones earned a bachelor’s degree from Albany State University, and a master’s degree from Georgia Southwestern.

A formal search is currently underway to fill Jones’ position.
