GSW to offer BBA at Gordon College
BARNESVILLE, Ga.—Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) and Gordon College (GC) recently signed a memorandum of understanding on the Gordon campus. The memo states that GSW will offer a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in management at Gordon beginning Spring 2009. This marks Georgia Southwestern’s eighth collaborative BBA program with state two-year colleges.
Gordon College has an estimated enrollment of 3,700 students and is located in the middle Georgia town of Barnesville, roughly 60 miles south of Atlanta.
“Working with Gordon College is an important part of GSW's mission to provide our excellent programs to students in other parts of the state,” said GSW Vice President of Academic Affairs Brian U. Adler, Ph.D. “Under the leadership of Dean John Kooti, our School of Business expects this degree to be a popular major on the Gordon College campus, and we are excited about this partnership and others to come between two fine USG institutions.”
Pending final approval from the University System of Georgia Board of Regents, this 2 + 2 program will allow Gordon students with an associate’s degree in business to earn junior and senior level credits toward a BBA in management from GSW. Both in-class and on-line courses will be offered.
This is the second agreement these two institutions have signed in the last year. In November of 2007, GSW and GC signed a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) which facilitates a seamless transfer process for GC students planning to attend Georgia Southwestern.
In Fall 2009, Georgia Southwestern will offer its Master of Education degree on GC’s campus, as well. This degree will be available to students with the proper prerequisites under the University System’s education curriculum.
The deadline to apply for Spring 2009 admission at GSW is December 19, 2008.
