Jenkins recognized as enrollment professional

AMERICUS—Georgia Southwestern’s Assistant Director of Admissions David Jenkins was recently recognized as a registered enrollment professional (REP) by the Georgia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (GACRAO) Institute for Strategic Enrollment Management (GISEM).

“I am thankful that my institution allowed me to participate in this program that challenged me to advance my professional knowledge in enrollment services,” said Jenkins. “I have a better understanding of not only the role of the admissions professional but of the registrar's office as well and the important relationship that exists between the two areas to provide a better level of customer service.”

The GACRAO Institute is designed to promote industry expertise in the field of collegiate enrollment management strategies. The blended spirit of these advance track sessions seek to illustrate the shared enrollment practices and interactions between Admissions and Records operations and how they may be influenced by campus governance, reporting, pricing thresholds, budgets or scholarship implications.

During the two-year GISEM program, Jenkins had to make three field visits to peer institutions and write assessments for each school outlining the enrollment management model that existed on each campus.  Jenkins made visits to Kennesaw State University, Columbus State University, and Macon State College where he visited with both the admissions and registrar's offices.

Jenkins has worked in the college admissions field for eight years and has been on staff at Georgia Southwestern for the last seven.

He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2000 and a master’s in 2008, both from GSW.
