GSW ribbon cutting set for Aug. 14
AMERICUS—In just under seven months, Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) has completed its newest residence hall, Magnolia. This is GSW’s third newly constructed residence hall within the last four years. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for Friday, August 14 at 1:30 p.m. to commemorate the occasion. Magnolia is located on Perimeter Road behind the GSW Education Center.
This event is free and open to the public.
Magnolia is a 300-bed, three-story facility designated for upperclassmen. It boasts suite-style living which includes a private bedroom for each student and a bathroom to share with one other student. Not surprisingly, Magnolia has already reached maximum capacity, and move-in day is a little more than a week away (Saturday, August 15).
The new residence hall was given the name Magnolia after a vote by students, faculty, staff and alumni.
For additional information about the ribbon cutting, please call (229) 931-2037.

Finishing touches--Landscapers add sod to the grounds of Georgia Southwestern's newest residence hall, Magnolia. A ribbon cutting is set for August 14 at 1:30 p.m.
