Pattillo stresses importance of education at Bell Lecture

Education is the key--Chair of the Atlanta Board of Education Katy Pattillo, center, was the featured speaker at Georgia Southwestern State University's Eighth Annual Griffin Bell Lecture sponsored by former U.S. Attorney General Griffin Bell ('36). Americus businessman Hulme E. Kinnebrew, left, introduced Pattillo following a welcome from GSW President Kendall Blanchard, right. Pattillo has been actively involved in the Atlanta community for the past two decades. Her top priority is raising student achievement for all students throughout Atlanta Public Schools. During her talk, Pattillo emphasized how crucial a proper education is to the well being of young people saying "education is the great equalizer."
