GSW to offer four-year degree at South Georgia College DOUGLAS, Ga.—Georgia Southwestern State University is partnering with South Georgia College (SGC) to provide greater access to a four-year degree program in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. Classes begin on SGC’s Douglas campus during Fall Semester 2008. The agreement between the institutions was formally signed at a Jan. 18 SGC reception. The program allows students from SGC to enter Georgia Southwestern’s Business Administration program after completing 60 hours of coursework with a 2.0 grade point average. Once the required hours are complete, students will begin the Bachelor of Business Administration program via a combination of online courses and traditional classroom lectures. GSW President Dr. Kendall A. Blanchard said the new program offerings benefit students across the area. “We are excited about our new partnership with South Georgia College,” said Blanchard. “We’re impressed by what the leadership there has accomplished in recent years, and we believe that we can work together to build on those accomplishments in a way that will benefit both institutions. More importantly, this new agreement will benefit those students who complete the Associate degree and wish to move on to a four-year program.” According to SGC President Dr. Torri Lilly, many people requested the four-year Business program on the SGC campus. “The College pursued this partnership in response to a Needs Assessment survey conducted last year,” said Lilly. “We recognized that students want a convenient program they can complete while continuing to work or raise a family, and now they can get a bachelor’s degree on SGC’s campus from the comfort of their home town.” For more information, call (229) 928-1273.
