GSW SIFE competes at national exposition, Kooti wins award CHICAGO, Ill.—Having won a regional championship in Atlanta earlier this year, the Georgia Southwestern State University Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team competed in the National Exposition in Chicago, Ill. May 13-15. Out of 700 U.S. teams, GSW SIFE was among the top 120. In honor of his outstanding contribution to the GSW SIFE team and advancement of the entire SIFE organization, John Kooti, dean of the School of Business and Sam M. Walton Fellow, was presented with the Jack Kahl Entrepreneurial Leadership Award as a Walton Free Enterprise Fellow of the Year. During the present academic year, GSW SIFE organized 29 projects dealing with teaching and promoting free enterprise in the community. The School of Business Advisory Board and partners have been instrumental in providing the support necessary to complete these projects. SIFE is an international non-profit organization active on over 1,400 university campuses in more than 40 countries. SIFE teams create economic opportunities in their communities by organizing outreach projects that meet market economics, entrepreneurship, personal financial success skills and business ethics criteria. Their projects are judged at competition on creativity, innovation and effectiveness.
