GSW enrollment climbs in spring semester 

            AMERICUS—A new semester, a new record. Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) today announced they officially set a new spring semester record enrollment in 2009 with 2600 students. This represents an increase of more than 17% or 384 students from spring semester 2008.

            Georgia Southwestern celebrated an all time enrollment record in Fall 2008 with 2717 students. The spring semester decrease is normal for all University System of Georgia institutions.

            The University’s continued growth is led by enriching programs in each academic discipline. In addition, Magnolia, GSW’s newest residence hall, is currently under construction and scheduled for completion in August; construction for a new Health and Human Sciences complex is on tap for Fall 2010; and the Hurricanes are finishing up their first season as full members of the NCAA Division II.
