New students blow onto campus for

GSW Storm Day

AMERICUS—Mid summer typically signifies intense heat and vacation, but for recent high school graduates, it’s a time to organize for the first days of college.

As a result, new freshmen and transfer students, 180 in all, stormed the Dome at Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) Friday, June 27 during the institutions second STORM (Seize The Opportunity to Register and More) Day of 2008. One of the final steps for accepted students at GSW, STORM Day allows them to register for classes, listen to information about potential majors, meet academic advisors and acclimate themselves to campus.

The next and final STORM Day in 2008 is scheduled for Friday, July 18 with a reservation deadline of July 11. For information, contact the Office of Admissions at (800) 338-0082.
