GSW offers summer reading, math
programs for elementary students
AMERICUS—The Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) School of Education Reading Department is offering summer reading and math programs for elementary age children beginning June 9. GSW students majoring in education are serving as tutors for this program.
Students entering grades two through six in the upcoming school year are eligible to participate. The program runs Tuesday through Thursday, June 9-25. The reading program is offered from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (students sign up for only one). The math program is offered from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
The cost of each program is $25 per student. After registering the first child, each additional child from the same household may register for $15 per program. There are no refunds for registered students who withdraw before or during the program.
Space is limited on a first come, first serve basis. If there are not enough students registered by May 29, the clinics will be canceled. Parents will be notified immediately and money refunded.
Registration forms are available at www.education.gsw.edu or caregivers may call (229) 931-2145 or email jym@gsw.edu or rshort@gsw.edu for further information.
