Tietjen retires as interim VPAA

Fond farewell—William L. “Hap” Tietjen, Ph.D., right, was honored Wednesday, June 4 in the Private Dining Hall by friends and colleagues for his year of service as Georgia Southwestern State University’s interim vice president of Academic Affairs. Above, Tietjen receives a plaque from GSW President Kendall Blanchard, Ph.D. This was Tietjen’s second term as interim Vice President, his first was in 1998 prior to his first stretch of retirement. Brian Adler, Ph.D., former dean of the Graduate School at Valdosta State University, took over for Tietjen on Monday, June 1.
