Instituted in 1987, these awards are conferred annually in two categories: Creative Writing and Academic Writing. These awards recognize excellence in writing as demonstrated by development, clarity, insight, and presentation. The competition is open to all GSW students, and prizes are awarded to the top three entrants in each category as judged by an interdisciplinary panel of faculty. The Award Winners are honored at a convocation held each March. Information about the deadlines for the annual competition becomes available during the Fall Term of each academic year.
