Student Service Project 

Wheatley Administration Building | 11:00 am
Our campus-wide service project includes a canned food drive with a friendly competition between our colleges/schools to see who can collect the most. Anyone and everyone is encouraged to bring canned food and help spell out G-S-W in front of Wheatley Administration. This event serves as the official kickoff for Presidential Investiture Week.

Dive-In Movie

Enjoy watching the latest hit movie Game Night from the comfort of your inner tube or glow-in-the-dark float at GSW's indoor pool with popcorn and candy in hand.

Windows to the World: Jaha's Promise Screening

Nursing Auditorium | 6:00 pm 
The documentary film Jaha's Promise follows Jaha Dukureh's journey to end FGM (female genital mutilation) in Africa and across the world. Jaha is a GSW alumna and a 2018 Nobel Peace Prize nominee.

Griffin Bell Convocation & Distinguished Lecture Series featuring 2018 Nobel Peace Prize nominee Jaha Dukureh

Jaha Dukureh, a GSW alumna, will serve as the keynote speaker.

GSW Women's & Men's Soccer Games

Soccer fields | 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm
The Hurricanes will face off against the Shaw University Bears.

'Glow Canes' Golf Cart Parade

Storm Dome parking lot and circling campus | 8:00 pm
Come celebrate GSW with a glow-themed golf cart parade featuring carts decorated by student organizations, with multiple awards given to those with the most creative and most spirited carts.
Open to the public.

Glow Party

GSW Lakehouse | immediately following parade until 10:30 pm
Drop by the Lakehouse for music and a bonfire wearing your glow essentials.

Academic Showcase Tours

Around campus | 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Take a tour of GSW's beautiful campus and learn more about our academic programs and a few special projects we have going on. Tours will include GSW's glassblowing studio, the nursing simulation lab, multiple science exhibits and demonstrations, a night sky observation of Saturn & Mars, a poetry reading, and so much more. See tour schedule.
Open to the public and special GSW Investiture guests.

Chamber Concert Series: Faculty and Friends Concert

Jackson Hall | 7:30 pm
Our 2018 Chamber Concert Series continues with performances from the faculty & friends of GSW’s Music Department.

Investiture Ceremony

Dr. Neal Weaver will be officially inaugurated as GSW’s 11th president during the formal Investiture Ceremony.

Enjoy lunch on the front lawn following the Investiture Ceremony.

Roller Skating Rink & DJ Contest

Lenny's Market in Downtown Americus | 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Roller skate to the tunes of GSW's Next Top DJ contestants.
Open to the public. Free for GSW students. $2 for ages 5-12, $3 for ages 13 & up.
