MISSION
To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
GOALS
We have three priority outcomes…
- Academic Success: graduate from high school ready for college, trade school, military or employment
- Good Character & Citizenship: be an engaged citizen involved in the community, register to vote and model strong character
- Healthy Lifestyles: adopt a healthy diet, practice healthy lifestyle choices and make a lifelong commitment to fitness.
- Facilitate developmentally appropriate activities/programs.
- Assist members with homework.
- As appropriate, participate in program/ service outcome measurement processes and data collection requirements. (i.e. facilitate a pre and posttest for members).
- Timely request of materials, equipment and other resources needed for program facilitation

In addition to Power Hour (homework time), GA Shape (30 minutes of physical activity everyday), visual arts, culinary arts, lyricism, and STEAM, we also offer gardening, computer lab, games room, anti-bullying, and more!
Job Description
OVERVIEW
Implement curriculum that exposes members to a broad range of interesting, developmentally appropriate areas such as the arts, education, technology, sports, life skills and leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate developmentally appropriate activities/programs.
- Assist members with homework.
- As appropriate, participate in program/ service outcome measurement processes and data collection requirements. (i.e. facilitate a pre and posttest for members).
- Timely request of materials, equipment and other resources needed for program facilitation
Requirements
Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must complete volunteer application, to include: (Volunteer application available from the PJCLP Director in SSC, room 3437.)
- Three professional references
- Background check (to be run and paid for by Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany)
- Drug test
- Signed waiver & release
Hours
- Between the hours of roughly 4:45pm to 7:00pm Monday through Friday
- Would not need to be daily, can be flexible in terms of hours and days of week, but would need to commit to a minimum of 2 hours each week
