Program Information
The Mission of Southwest Georgia Court Appointed Special Advocates (SOWEGA CASA) is to recruit, screen, train and supervise volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children throughout Southwest Georgia.
Goal: CASA volunteers provide a voice for children in court by making sure their best interests are considered by the courts, social service system, and community service providers; thus, assuring the child’s right to an appropriate placement and permanent home.
Local Activities: We participate in events at GSW, First Friday, local events in the 12 counties we serve to bring awareness to our program, etc.
Job Description
- Filing
- Records Request
- Phone Calls to foster parents and relative placements to gather information about Christmas
- Distribute Christmas presents
- Assist with fundraising activities
- Assist with community awareness
Requirements

- Be available on days scheduled to volunteer
- Dress casually
Hours
Monday - Friday and hours are flexible. We will work with students according to their school schedules.
