Georgia Southwestern's history department is an affiliate of Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honors society. Our chapter, Alpha-Kappa-Chi, was founded in 2003. For more information, contact Susan Bragg at Susan.Bragg@gsw.edu.
Mission
We are a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. We seek to bring students and teachers together for intellectual and social exchanges, which promote and assist historical research and publication by our members in a variety of ways.
History Club
All students, regardless of GPA or major field, can participate in the GSW History Club. This group promotes historical study and public engagement through regular
campus meetings and field trips. For more information, contact Susan Bragg at Susan.Bragg@gsw.edu
