If I damage something how will I be charged? 

Depending on the severity of the damages, you may be charged. Charges will be placed on your account as a hold and can be paid through Student Accounts. 

How do I change rooms or transfer halls? 

If a vacancy exists and your reason is legitimate, a room change may be granted. Start the process by talking to your RA.

What do I need to bring on move in day? 

Check the Residence Life home page, there is a link with items that you may bring to make your stay more enjoyable.

What is the decoration policy? 

You may decorate, but do so at your own discretion. You should not plan to make holes or paint the walls. If the walls are determined to be damaged, you will incur a charge to your account.

Where can I eat on campus? 

GSW has several locations where students can purchase meals. In addition to the cafeteria, Higher Grounds coffee shop and a campus convenience store are located in the Marshall Student Center. Also, recently our Canes Den, located in the Student Success Center, has been transformed by the opening of a Chick-Fil-A/Boar's Head franchise. Learn more by visiting our Dining Services webpage.

How do I get a parking permit? 

After your tuition has been paid, your parking permit will be available at Campus Safety.

What If I need special accommodations? 

Our residence halls are equipped with rooms designed for those who require physical accommodations. On the housing application, please note any need for physical accommodations. 

What is the alcohol policy? 

As GSW is not a dry campus, alcohol is allowed for those of the legal age. 

Where can I smoke? 

Along with all other University System of Georgia institutions, GSW is now a tobacco-free campus. Use of any/all forms of tobacco products is prohibited on campus.

Are pets allowed? 

Fish are the only pets that are permitted in the residence halls. All fish must be contained in a tank no larger than ten gallons.

Is there public transportation? 

The GSW Shuttle provides students with transportation to sites such as grocery stores and banks. The shuttle schedule is emailed weekly, and it is also posted in the Student Success Center.
