Upon its opening in 1939, the Florrie Chappell Gymnasium was a hub of student activity. We constantly hear stories from alumni about concerts, dances, Homecoming skits, intramural sports and freezing cold swimming lessons. After years of wear and tear, the “old gym” will soon be under renovation, being revived into a fitness and recreation center for our students and community. We have the opportunity to restore what matters and impact future students’ lives.
To accommodate the renovations, the University is undergoing a capital fund drive. Please consider supporting this project. If you have questions about how to support this project, please contact the GSW Foundation at (229) 931-2014.
