AMERICUS (Jan. 4, 2018)—Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) is hosting the first Global South Seminar Series of the 2017-2018 academic year. The seminar, "Changing Narratives of Africa and Implications for Health Intervention and Development," is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Carter I Nursing Auditorium.

The featured speaker will be Chinekwu Obidoa, Ph.D., assistant professor of Global Health in the Department of International and Global Studies at Mercer University. A question and answer session with Obidoa will conclude the seminar.

The Global South Seminar Series is organized and moderated by Brian Smith, Ph.D., GSW professor of political science. This series is a continuation of the Third World in Perspective Seminar Series previously organized by the late Harold Isaacs, Ph.D.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend this free program.
