Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving Aims to Give Hope to Caregivers
The Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving was recently featured in an in-depth piece in the Albany Herald. The goal was to increase awareness about the Institute, but mostly call attention to the local, community-based support they have to offer. RCI Executive Director Dr. Leisa Easom discussed the origin of the Institute, the heavily requested free booklet ‘Ten Tips for Caregivers’, the CARE-NET Coalition, as well as the ‘Caring for You, Caring for Me’ program. Gayle Alston, Director of the RCI Training Center for Excellence, talked about the statewide ‘Dealing with Dementia’ program newly implemented for dementia caregivers and the comprehensive, user-friendly guide that accompanies it. The RCI REACH (Resources Enhancing Alzheimer’s Caregiver Health) program now offered through Phoebe Sumter Medical Center was described by Caregiver Coach Schieloh Wolfe.
