November GSW Foundation Board of Trustees Meeting recap
The fall GSW Foundation Board of Trustees Meeting was held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 in the Wheatley Administration Building.
At the meeting, Mike Denham was granted Life Trustee status and was presented a hand-blown bowl, created by Chuck Wells, GSW instructor in Visual Arts. This gift was presented to Mr. Denham as a token for this service to the Foundation since 1998. The presentation of a glass bowl is a long-standing tradition of the Foundation.
Other members, Rick Davis, Wallace Mays and Jimmy Skipper were re-elected for an additional 3-year term. Steven Snell, a GSW Alumnus from Metter, GA was elected as a new Trustee to serve a 3-year term.
Faculty and staff fund drive extended
The faculty and staff fund drive end date has been extended to November 11. Many of you have said that you want to contribute and we want to be sure that you have time. Congratulations to the Office of Admissions for achieving 100% participation – I know others are close, so please continue to get the envelopes to your coordinator or to us. We look forward to congratulating other departments and sharing with you the results of the fund drive in terms of dollars raised and participation percentage, and more importantly the impact of those funds on the ultimate beneficiaries – students of Georgia Southwestern!
