Easom invited to be member of Georgia’s Older Adults Cabinet
Georgia Governor Nathan Deal has recognized a need to look more closely at the issues affecting Georgia’s aging population. Because of RCI’s demonstrated interest and concern in this area, Governor Deal has invited RCI Executive Director Dr. Leisa Easom to be a cabinet member on the Georgia’s Older Adults Cabinet along with his wife, Sandra Deal. The purpose of the cabinet is to provide a platform for policymakers, state agencies and other stakeholders to engage in a way that allows us to develop an infrastructure in our state that improves the well-being of Georgia’s aging population. Together, they will examine and assess the current issues affecting older Georgians, including health care, nutrition, transportation, housing, safety, caregiver support, and economic security.
Dr. Leisa Easom and Sandra Deal attended the first Older Adults Cabinet meeting at the Governor’s Mansion in Atlanta on March 23.
OneUSG Connect to Replace ADP
OneUSG Connect will replace ADP and all employees will use the system to record and submit time and to access, review and update personal information including direct deposit, paystubs and benefits.
OneUSG is a system-wide initiative to develop and implement a consistent approach to policies, procedures and technology solutions that benefit the University System of Georgia (USG), in an effort to reduce costs, streamline processes, and have uniform guidelines with centralized support.
The first priority for the OneUSG initiative is to bring all institutions onto one system to manage USG human resources activities, benefits and compensation. The go-live date for GSW is set for June 18, 2017 and there will be plenty of opportunities for employees to ask questions and learn the system in the days and weeks ahead.
