Rubik’s Cube competition returns to campus for second year

Brother-sister duo and Americus natives Joshua and Nikita Cherian are bringing the Windsor Cubing Classic back to GSW's campus for the second year in a row. Last year, two North American records were set in feet solving. Joshua, a Georgia Tech student, and Nikita, a GSW student, anticipate similar results this year.

When asked how they got into "cubing", Joshua said, "At age 10, I solved two sides and was very excited. My mom tried to help me finish, but messed it up."

After seeing her older brother upset, Nikita took it upon herself to help. "I felt sorry for him so I removed all the stickers, placed them in the correct order, and gave it back to him." Joshua appreciated the gesture, but knew there had to a better way - the right way. He began watching instructional videos on YouTube and the rest is history.

The cubing competition, set for Saturday, June 16, will bring close to 100 "cubers" to campus from all over the Southeast.
