Career Services updates include move to Collum Hall and fall programs
Career Services is continuing their move to the first floor of Collum Hall. The Suit Closet will be transferred over after fall semester begins. If you need to contact Career Services please email Sandra Fowler (sandra.fowler@gsw.edu) or Debbie Hobgood (debbie.hobgood@gsw.edu), as the phone lines have not yet been rerouted. An open house for the new Collum Hall location will be scheduled in the next few weeks.
The Foundations in Finance curriculum 12-chapter version will also be offered again this fall. This program is provided at no additional charge to students. This year’s program includes a new feature with the first three chapters – Savings, Budgets and Debt – now being offered online. It is a turnkey program with videos, quizzes and student learning outcomes. Faculty, staff and students may request access via the Career Services office. An interest session date will be announced soon.
Career Services will also be available for classroom and organization presentations this fall. Presentations are scheduled on a first-come-first serve basis. Career Services also asks that no classes or presentations are canceled without informing Sandra Fowler.
To schedule a presentation, contact Director of Career Services Sandra Fowler at sandra.fowler@gsw.edu.
Fowler selected to attend Locate South Georgia Leads program
Director of Career Services Sandra Fowler has been selected to be part of the third class of Locate South Georgia Leads program, an 8-month leadership experience designed to facilitate awareness of issues that are essential to the future success of the region, including Regional Identity and Influence, Workforce Development and Collective Visioning & Planning. Fowler hopes this program will strengthen partnerships with employers in the region to provide more opportunities for internships and careers for GSW students.
