Ryan Cahill named All-America Scholar
GSW men’s golfer Ryan Cahill has been named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America for the 2017-18 academic year.
A junior from Ascot, England, Cahill was one of two Hurricanes to play in all 11 events this season. He posted six rounds of par or better and finished the year ranked second on the team with a 74.65 stroke average as the Hurricanes advanced to the NCAA South/Southeast Regionals for the fifth time in seven years.

Golf program earns National All-Academic Distinction
The GSW men’s golf team has earned All-Academic distinction from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) for the 2017-18 school year. It's the fourth time in five years Georgia Southwestern has earned the national honor.
The Hurricanes were one of only 40 programs in NCAA Division II, and one of two from the Peach Belt Conference, to earn the honor.

Lady Hurricanes lead PCB with five ITA Scholar-Athletes
The GSW women's tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team status and put five student-athletes on the ITA Scholar-Athlete list to lead the Peach Belt Conference for the 2018 season.
Sophomore Charli Allen, juniors Kendall Crew and Celia del Castillo, and seniors Ashley Denby and Anneliese Leahy earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for the Lady Hurricanes. The award is given to all varsity letter winners with two semesters at their current school and at least a 3.50 grade point average (on a 4.00 scale) for the academic year.

Kameisha Smith named 2018 National All-American Miss City Queen
Sophomore business management major Kameisha Smith was recently awarded the National All-American Miss City Queen.
As a top 5 finalist in her All-American City Pageant, Kameisha has been invited to represent the Georgia court and compete for the prestigious title of National All-American Miss alongside other finalists from across the country. The national pageant for the Miss division will take place November 19-25 in Anaheim, California.
The national pageant requires participants to conduct themselves professionally in a job-style interview, introduce themselves on stage to an audience in a personal introduction, present confidence, poise and personality in formal wear, and make a difference through their Community Service Project.
Kamiesha’s platform includes combatting depression, mentoring youth, supporting racial equality and raising awareness about safe driving.
Hurricanes one of three PCB schools earning ITA All-Academic Team
