Cafè Campesino coffee now available on campus

The GSW community can now find Café Campesino’s locally roasted, fair trade, organic coffee sold by-the-cup inside the dining hall in the Marshall Student Center.

In an official ribbon cutting ceremony today, GSW President Neal Weaver noted that the Café Campesino Coffeehouse is a place where GSW students, faculty and staff like to go, not just because of the great coffee, but because of the great environment.

“The way they do their business, the way they source their coffee and the way they treat their customers should be an inspiration to all of us in the way we treat our customers, the way we treat our students and the way we serve our community,” Weaver stated. “GSW is looking forward to a long-lasting, and hopefully growing, relationship with Café Campesino.”

GSW unveils newly renovated Mauldin & Jenkins accounting classroom

Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) recently unveiled a completely renovated accounting classroom in the School of Business Administration. The renovation, which included state-of-the-art classroom technology, new floors and ceilings, paint and a large wall mural, was made possible thanks to a generous donation from Mauldin & Jenkins, an accounting firm based in Atlanta.

Guests at the November 1 ribbon-cutting ceremony included GSW faculty and staff, members of the GSW Foundation, and Mauldin & Jenkins partners, Hanson Borders, Elton Wolf and Doug Moses. Moses, a GSW alumnus, also serves as president of the Georgia Southwestern Foundation.

“We’ve enjoyed a long relationship with Mauldin & Jenkins,” said School of Business Dean Liz Wilson. “We’re so thankful for all the internship opportunities and job opportunities they have provided our students.”
