Payment Options

Georgia Southwestern offers a variety of ways to pay for your tuition and fees to make funding your future easy and accessible. Payments can be made online, in person, and by mail. There is also an option for a Payment Plan offered by Nelnet to provide more flexibility during the payment process.

Georgia Southwestern State University is no longer participating in the Federal Perkins Loan Program.

All fees for Summer 2024 are due the 1st day of your 1st class.

**For each paper or electronic (webcheck) check that is returned will be assessed a Returned Check Fine of $15.00 OR 5% of the face amount of the check, whichever is greater.

Payment Deadline

All fees for Summer 2024 are due the 1st day of your 1st class. Example: If you are enrolled in a course that starts on May 13 and another that starts June 6, your payment deadline is May 13, 2024. 

A $50 late fee may be assessed to your account if your payment is not received by the deadline. You will be at risk for being administratively dropped from your classes for non-payment if your account is not paid in full by the payment deadline.

How to Pay

1. Access the Touchnet Portal to View Invoice

Log into myGSW > select GSW Touchnet Portal > Select Account Activity > Select by Term.  Authorized aid will reduce your payment due.

If Needed, Register for a Nelnet Payment Plan

You must be signed up with Nelnet by the fee payment deadline for your student account to be considered paid by guarantee with your Nelnet Payment Plan.

3. Check Your Student Email and Touchnet Portal for Updates

Please remember that any changes to your schedule, housing, or meal plan can impact your invoice. Please review your updated invoice 24 - 48 hours after making any adjustments.

1098T Tuition Statement

Each year GSW will provide a 1098T Statement by the IRS Deadline of January 31. The 1098T Statement will be available on your RAIN Account and the Touchnet Payment Portal. Your 1098-T form will not be mailed.

Access from your RAIN account:

  • Log in to myGSW
  • Select “GSW Student Self Service (New Rain)
  • Select “Student Account”
  • Select” Tax Notification (1098-T) 9x”

Access from your Touchnet Portal (Effective 2021):

  • Log into Touchnet
  • Select “Statements” under My Account
  • Select “1098-T Tax Statements”
  • Select “View” for the desired Tax Year to display a printer friendly PDF 1098T statement

Touchnet Authorized User Access (Effective 2021):

(Student has to give access to the statement before an Authorized User can view it.)

  • Go to the Authorized User Login on Touchnet
  • Select “Statements” under My Account
  • Select “1098-T Tax Statements”
  • Select “View” for the desired Tax Year to display a printer friendly PDF 1098T statement
