Alumni Affairs

Alumni Affairs

The Office of Alumni Affairs serves as a liaison between our alumni, the GSW Alumni Association and the university. Our purpose is to provide opportunities for our alumni to reconnect with their alma mater. The Alumni Affairs office is located on the second floor of the Newman Alumni Center on the historical campus of Georgia Southwestern State University. The building, which once served as a former female dormitory and president's house, was lovingly restored under the direction of the GSW Alumni Association and named in honor of Jerry Newman, Class of '59, who graciously contributed to the restoration process.

If you have an idea for a reunion or event, feel free to contact us at alumni@gsw.eduSend a class note to let us know of personal or professional changes as well as update your address or contact information. Class Notes are printed in GSW's Aeolian magazine.

Benefits of Engagement

Becoming involved with the Alumni Association allows benefits such as:

  • A huge network of professional contacts

Your Impact

Amazing Canes

GSW celebrates alumni who have received accolades in the news media, promotions within their respective companies, an/or who have been highlighted for impressive talents, skills and/or are movers and shakers in their field.

GSW alumni events provide opportunities to meet and get know alumni of different ages. Our recent trip to Italy provided memorable experiences and new friendships. Since my sons are also alumni, the events provide an opportunity for our family to get together at a Braves game or other engagement opportunities.
