The College of Arts and Sciences at Georgia Southwestern State University offers a strong foundation in the Core Curriculum and provides a wide range of undergraduate degrees in high-demand fields such as biology, psychology, criminal justice, communication, pre-med, and pre-pharmacy. Our faculty use evidence-based teaching practices and continuous assessment to ensure academic excellence and student success. Through research opportunities, creative and scholarly work, community engagement, and co-curricular experiences, the College fosters intellectual, personal, and professional growth while preparing students for meaningful careers and graduate study in Georgia and beyond.

Only Glass Blowing Program in Georgia
Since the 1960s, Georgia Southwestern has continued to embrace the craftsmanship of glassblowing. GSW's glass program continues to remain the only public university in the state of Georgia with a glass blowing program.

Our Biology, Chemistry, and Visual Arts programs have recently been rated as some of the top programs in the state by Niche (2023).
All programs offered through the College of Arts and Sciences are accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, masters, and specialist degrees.
Choose from a variety of programs and cater your GSW experience. Most Arts & Science programs allow room for a minor or certificate program from any other discipline.
GSW has always been part of my life to some extent or another. My mother transferred from Japan and met my father at GSW, and I also grew up attending various campus events, participating in the GSW community band in middle school, and later taking dual enrollment courses here. When it came time to complete my undergraduate studies, choosing GSW was the natural option because it has always felt like home to me.
