RAIN is the Registration and Academic Information Network that provides a convenient method for students to obtain information via the internet. 

Students can use this system to view information such as holds on their account, semester grade reports, unofficial academic transcripts, account summary and fee assessments, financial aid status, registration status, and current schedule.


Instructions for First-Time Users

  • Access RAIN by visiting
  • At the RAIN main menu, select the "Secured Login" option from the drop-down menu on the right
  • Enter your Student User ID (GSW ID #). If you do not know you GSW ID#, you can find it by clicking the "Retrieve ID" button. 
  • Enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN). The first time you login, your PIN will be the six digital of your birthdate. (ex: if your birthdate is April 18, 2000, your PIN would be 041800). Once you have entered your PIN, click "Login."
  • The first time you log in, you will be notified that your PIN has expired. Re-enter the original PIN (MMDDYY). Next create your own PIN. Remember, the PIN must be six numeric digits. 
  • The "Terms of Usage" page will appear the first time you login. Review the terms and then click "Continue."
  • You will then be asked to create a security question in case you forget your PIN. Create your question and answer and click "Submit."
  • The next page is the GSW Notification System opt-in page. You may provide contact numbers to receive GSW-related text messages and phone calls.


Returning Students:

  • Visit
  • Click on the drop down menu and choose "Secured Login."
  • Enter your GSW ID (913xxxxxx)
    *If you forgot your GSW ID, visit GSW ID# Lookup.
  • Enter your PIN number (6 digit number).
    *If you forgot your PIN: Click ‘Forgot PIN’, answer your security question, and create a new six digit number.
